At CB Patil Chawl in Mumbai, a row of trees becomes more than a collection of vegetation. Together, they form a living infrastructure that shapes shade, movement, gathering, play, memory and everyday encounters. The drawing emerged from observing how these different trees participate in the life of the chawl, creating relationships between people, other species and the spaces between buildings. Rather than representing the trees as isolated landscape elements, the drawing brings their canopies, sensory presence and the activities they enable into one field. Made through graphite and digital post-production, it explores trees as social and ecological infrastructure.
