REIMAGINED RELICS: ANOMALIA

Deserted spaces and decaying walls are one of the greatest storytellers. They tell the story of time. “Form follows function” has been a thought process that the fraternity of the construction industry have not detested till date. But perfectly functioning architecture can soon find itself crumbling under declining relevance. It’s time for it to change. It’s probably time for something ‘meaningless’. Architecture is bombarded with a lot of meaning, when conceived. The design wants to be a definitive of ‘meaningless’, and probably allow people to create meaning. Meaning could change and be redefined.

We imagined a Brutalist relic and adapted the structure to be reused as living spaces. The contrasting addition of a sinusoidal lattice roof spanning the brutalist volumes is our interpretation of how the evolution of function generates a democratic space.
