OVERLAYING IDENTITY – FROM RESIDENTIAL FAÇADE TO COMMERCIAL FRONTAGE: ROBUST NEEV

This working illustration captures the façade intervention undertaken as part of an adaptive-reuse project, transforming a typical residential building for commercial use. Rather than replacing the existing structure, a new façade was conceived as an independent layer over the retained elevation, giving the building a renewed commercial identity. The drawing documents the process of translating this intervention into a buildable system—developing the metal subframe, resolving material transitions and junctions, integrating lighting, and detailing edges, slopes and drip moulds. Stone veneer was introduced as a key material element, defining the façade’s new visual character while reinforcing its layered composition.
