Drawn as a planting plan for a built memorial of Gujarati poet Makarand Dave at Nandigram, this drawing emerges from a line by the poet, reflecting a philosophy of surrender and trust in natural processes. Planting is approached as an open system, organised through four quadrants of wild, matrix-based assemblages. Each quadrant responds to seasonality; shifts in texture, flowering, and bloom cycles allowing diversity and unpredictability to shape the space over time. The scheme explores propagation through seeds, cuttings, and division. Each plant is plotted on an aerial image on a grid, making the system both scalable and countable, translating the drawing into an implementable planting framework.
