Mapusa is known for its market place which serves as a major hub for the district of North Goa. The Sukraracho Bazar (Friday Market) was, and still is, an important occurrence where goods are brought in from surrounding places and bought and sold here.

This is a view of the Mapusa Market as seen from the top of the neighbouring buildings. Prestige Arcade Building, while it was under construction in 2014.
