Sheesh Mahal is part of an inquiry into the everyday life of historic buildings in Bhopal’s old city. Rather than documenting the old monument as a fixed architectural object, the drawing explores how it continues to evolve through occupation, adaptation and repair. It brings together hand sketches, measured plans and sections, and field notes collected over multiple site visits, layering observations made across different moments and scales. Drawing becomes a means of slowing down, looking closely, and revealing the spatial narratives that emerge through lived experience and continual transformation.
