A Pool in Mumbai: Sunayana Golechha

Using the motto ‘Tea House’, the idea of a Japanese tea house is translated into a pool for a private client in Mumbai. It is a place of ritual, desire and sanctity. It exists as the strong gesture of excavating a pool, and with this earth creating a mountain of fired bricks, in whose shadow one swims. The white granite which lines the pool reflects the idea of austerity of water. The drawing is a cross section which has been digitally rendered to represent the atmosphere of the project.
