‘The Flying Walls Hostel’ is settled amidst one of the developing areas on the outskirts of the city of Rajkot. Saurashtra’s raw landscape provides a contrasting backdrop to the building. The yellow and scattered greens of the scrub Savanna paint a picture of how hot the region gets. 

The cantilevered (flying) walls in this project are articulated to shade the interior spaces. These walls stagger over thin concrete slabs to form an interesting pattern of balconies and shadows while creating necessary barrier from the scorching heat outside.
