
The studio typically vacillates between 3D and 2D modes, impressionistic sketches to concretised details, in a non-linear manner, to conceptualise design. This is a montage of a physical, monochromatic model with conceptual sketches of Bharat Bhavan, Chennai. The design is imagined as a space where the formal and informal modes of cultures come together with porous edges and decentralised masses to create an inclusive public place. This exercise of juxtaposing various stages of the process – in this case, the looseness of the sketches with the finished model, allows us to dwell on and re-visit the original idea being abstracted.
