THE URBAN IN-BETWEEN: LALITHYA BUSA

The Urban In-Between is an architectural thesis project that reimagines the precinct of Tagore Hall, Ahmedabad, as a youth-centric urban hub positioned between the city’s contemporary aspirations and its cultural heritage. The site serves as a transitional urban interface between Ahmedabad’s growing commercial momentum and the gradual disconnect from its cultural and architectural legacy, creating a spatial dialogue that connects active commercial programs with culture-oriented spaces through a strong visual axis and a sequence of engaging plazas. Conceived as an untold memorial to the legendary Ar.Balkrishna Doshi, the project frames the relationship between Ahmedabad and Doshi’s architectural legacy while introducing diverse social, educational, and creative spaces for the city’s youth. The illustration style is inspired by Doshi’s iconic serigraphs, translating the site into a graphic narrative of movement, memory, and urban life.
