The narrative attempts to interpret the ordinary as iconic versus image as iconic – towards a more relatable and inclusive environment by exploring an existing building typology -as a ‘Place’ for the City. The outline of the program is to celebrate the mundane: a place to find the familiar.
The idea of ephemerality is introduced in the built form as a facilitator which could expand, and contract as required to receive the existing and additional actors and activities within the context of the project. Further, it is an attempt at what ‘identity’ could or should mean in present day context.
The drawing explores the potential of built form in the making of place and more importantly everything outside of it that relates it to its micro and macro setting.
