BETWEEN THRESHOLDS: RACHAKONDA CAFE: STUDIO HYDERABAD

Proposed within a wellness centre in the rugged landscape of Rachakonda, Telangana, the café explores the relationship between architecture, terrain and spatial experience. Drawing inspiration from the spatial character of Rachakonda Fort, the design employs local stone and traditional stone joinery to reinterpret regional building practices. On a triangular site, a narrowing passage opens into a circular courtyard, creating a sequence of compression and release. Framed views and a low sloping roof establish a dialogue between the built form and its landscape. The drawings were developed in Archicad and post-produced in Adobe Illustrator.
