FROM TANK TO TAP: NILAY PATALIA ARCHITECTS

GEIST BREWING FACTORY, BENGALURU, INDIA

Phase 1: Development of Brewing Factory by refurbishing an existing shed through extension of the building on either sides as well as adding a new roof.

Phase 2: Addition of factory outlet serving beer made in the factory, and restaurant with 200 seating capacity as well as services. The large banyan tree became the focal point for the design around which the various functions were organised. The factory outlet block was designed as curved block following the canopy of the trees whereas the glass pavilion was wrapped around the tree creating a courtyard with the factory wall as a backdrop.
