When the Wall is Shared: DORO

This drawing documents the superimposition of the new proposed section over the neighbour’s exposed house, revealed when our own house was brought down for rebuilding. In many rural settlements across Gujarat, houses share structural walls — when one is rebuilt, the neighbour temporarily relocates, exposing the shared domestic section. The collage captures this moment of overlap between two homes, where boundaries blur and collective building practices come to light. The drawing combines photographic documentation, digital sectioning, and collage to read this transient state of making and unmaking.
