For this house in rural Andhra Pradesh, we imagined a monastic retreat-like design. To enhance this sense of seclusion, we thickened the walls, making them usable walls. This early hand-drawn sketch depicts the arrangement of thickened, usable, load-bearing walls that define the inner living spaces and outer open spaces.
