The design of Oasis is rooted in vernacular principles. The campus is organised around courtyards, water bodies and lush greenery. Locally sourced materials, passive cooling, and rainwater harvesting enhance sustainability, while open walkways and sunlit interiors encourage interaction and well-being. The structural system combines locally sourced 400mm basalt stone walls with a predominantly steel framework and corrugated sloping roofs built without welded joints, allowing flexibility, dismantling, and reuse. Reflective double glazed windows provide another heat buffer in the summer months of Ahmedabad, while a large glass northlight in the studio block gives ample daylight without direct sun.
