This section intends to celebrate the traditional Indian architectural and engineering wisdom — from structural wooden slabs and brick vaults to lime plasters, laterite masonry, and Mangalore tile roofs. It describes time-honoured techniques, shaped by local climate and rooted in artisanal skills. Timeless details are adapted for layers of privacy and visibility. It shows the activities and lifestyles shaped by different environments with varying ambiences and how life in the house is tethered to the central, serene prayer hall. It is illustrated with hand sketches and renderings made in Procreate over an AutoCAD template.
