A Planted Grid, A House Built in Voids: Language.Architecture.Body

The concept of the house emerges from within the site. A grid, planted fifty years ago, forms the spatial framework of the design. Setbacks are derived from branches, rather than boundaries. Similarly, the architectural diagram evolves in response to
the existing trees, which become the key feature of this representation.

The green hues complement the natural terrain of the site, located in Alibaug, Maharashtra. The plan is articulated as a series of blocks, reinforcing the design intent behind the massing strategy of how the built snakes between the trees. Tools such as Illustrator and Photoshop facilitate the visualisation of these highly technical plans, translating them into clear and communicative diagrams.
